So… Halloween was awesome! Best. Costume. Ever. Well, going as the Master involved only a suit, laser screwdriver, wedding and then silver ring, but… I knew who I was, and that’s all that mattered! Ha!

I thought I’d just give you crazy cats an update. Writing, writing, writing. And never any writing that I SHOULD be doing. I blame Cooks and Mik the most for this terrible, terrible thing. And now, thanks Cookie, I have an angry Raz throwing things about in my head. Ko-Ko isn’t doing too well, either. Poor bugger.

Yes! Dissertation ideas are set in stone (ha, ha!) and I’m slowly dying inside. So. Much. To. Do. Third year is canny enough… you know, the usual drama, but there you go! I should also probs put up some stuff of mine onto here. I keep meaning to, but… lazy. Yep. Basically. I was also going to write much more for updates and stuff and then I thought… meh. Yay for lethargy!

It’s funny how much things can change in a handful of months, isn’t it?

New Year was great. I spent a lot of time with my family, and whilst health is always an issue, things are looking up. Over Christmas, I realised that there were a few people around me that really weren’t doing me any good, so I’ve cut ties and feel much happier. My friends are now all people that listen to me when things are tough and support me, not just people that try and drag me down. My real friends are people that don’t need me to just make them laugh on command. Much better!

Apart from uni work and hanging out with my awesome mates (as always!), there’s a few other bits and pieces that’s gone on. I’m 21! Woo! It was a hilarious night. Went for a Chinese with all the family, including my fantastic aunt and cousins, then came back to the house for karaoke. It’s a night I’ll never forget. Adam was horrifically rude, and I’ll never be able to listen to Kylie Minogue in the same way again! Mum was… and Debbie was… err… oh dear. A little tipsy, shall we say? Ha ha! Just a bit!

We also have a new pet. A parakeet. Now, I know what you’re thinking: a bird? Honestly? Well, he was originally living with my cousin Heidi after her boyfriend decided to keep him there, but the bloody little thing was driving her insane. So… Mum brought him home. He was originally going to be hers, so she named him Nipwip. Cool. Until it turned out that he only seems to like me, following me around in his cage and crying whenever I go out of his sight. I don’t envy the time she’ll have with him when I leave for the evil south!

On that note, I’m back in Northants on Saturday, too, so even though I’ll be missing home like crazy, I can’t wait to see my awesome dudes and dudettes. I can’t believe that my second year is going by so quickly! It’ll be September soon, and then moving into the house… ack! Frightening, adult stuff going on there!

Ooh! Did I almost forget to mention how awesome Doctor Who was last Saturday? And the Red Dwarf episodes? The guys were all top form, and I loved the ending. (Don’t worry, there’s no spoilers here!)

Well, I guess that’s it for now. Maybe I’ll remember to update things a bit more regularly, hmm? Or not. You should know what I’m like by now, surely.

I think that maybe you all deserve an update.

I know I haven’t really spoken to anyone since I left, and I want to apologise for that. It’s kinda how I cope, plus, I haven’t spent a lot of time online in a while. It’s just easier pretending that everything’s fine, you know, no news is good news, right?

Okay. Mum’s health is rocky at the moment, and I’m praying that the antibiotics work, or else… well. Yeah. Adam’s up, down and all over the place. I’ve heard a lot of stuff that I wish I didn’t know… but that’s par for the course. I’m honoured that so many people want to confide in me, but I’ve only got so much space left to care about. Pretty close to snapping, oh yes.

I’ve been to see the optician. He says that I’m lucky things haven’t deteriorated, and that I should just accept the blacked out lens as part of who I am. I went to the doctor, and she is pretty furious with the counsellor I had down in Northants. She’s set up a few sessions of counselling before I go back to uni, and suggested that I go to counselling to just keep me afloat until I finish with my studies, then go ahead with ‘serious psychotherapy’. Mum was in the room, so we didn’t discuss exactly how I was feeling about certain subjects. I wouldn’t around Christmas, so don’t worry about that.

Oh, yeah. Bill’s mother died on the 10th, so I went to see her body at the chapel of rest on Thursday. First time I’d ever seen a corpse. You know, I just looked at her and was really detached. This was a woman – when she was good – would hug me and talk to me all the time. She was one of the first people that held me as a baby, and I didn’t feel anything. It was the same at the funeral on Friday. I sat in the front row with the other family, but Adam and I were pretty much ignored. Not that it matters. Nothing good comes naturally out of the Summers family.

On a slightly more positive note, Mum found her sister, Debbie, and we went to see her last Tuesday. Almost 2 hours late, mind, as we got spectacularly lost. Sunderland and the like is a bitch to navigate. Anyway, I met my aunt and one of my cousins, Heidi. I guess everyone in my bloodline has gone through a hell of a lot of shit over the years. They’re coming over tomorrow, which should be good. They’re a bit, ah, rough, so I stick on the broadest accent I can do when they’re around. Mum sounds really mackem, but I think that’s just down to how she used to speak when she lived over there.

Well, Christmas is around the corner. New anti-depressants on Wednesday, and I can’t even begin to spell or pronounce them. Funsies. Hopefully I’ll be able to catch up with you guys soon.
